Opera Software’s Espen André Øverdahl has confirmed officially that the successor of Opera 10.x reaches a key milestone on November 23rd, as the browser vendor releases the first Beta Build to testers.

Øverdahl did not provide a specific launch deadline for Opera 11 Beta, but users should keep their eyes on this space and I’ll make sure to provide an update as soon as the new development milestone goes live.

“You're on 10 on your browser. Where can you go from there? If you need that extra push over the cliff, know what you can do? You can check back here tomorrow and test out the new Opera 11 beta,” he stated.

This Saturday, Opera Software provided its latest Build of Opera 11 Alpha. At that time, Michal Kos, from the Opera Desktop Team indicated that Opera 11 Alpha Build 1104 was extremely close to Beta.

“We are very happy to give you yet another snapshot of Opera 11, bringing us closer to a beta release. We are working hard to make it truly the best Internet experience,” he explained.

“We fixed some issues with privacy settings for extensions, and added a new shortcut, Ctrl+Shift+O, to open the Error Console. Feel free to test it, and give us your feedback.”

Obviously, Opera Software has been hard at work polishing Opera 11 Beta, in order to get the release ready for testers.

At this point in time, the Norway-based browser vendor did not provide a specific availability deadline for Opera 11. Of course, Opera Software is also mum on future pre-release Builds of Opera 11, with the exception of the Beta, which drops tomorrow, November 23rd.
